IMPLEMENTATION OF FPGA CONTROL FOR MULTILEVEL BOOST CONVERTER USED FOR PV APPLICATION


This project presents the implementation of a Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) for photovoltaic (PV) applications by using multilevel boost converter and FPGA Board. The control algorithm for extracting maximum power from the cell is proposed by means of the VHDL code and implemented using Xilinx XC3S400 FPGA Board. In this work, a practical implementation of the real-time Estimate Perturb and Absorb algorithm for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control in a PV system has been developed. The Developed implementation has the advantage of simple programming with high performance even with low resolution ADC and low cost current sensor. The proposed technique has been validated through detailed experimental work.

Controlling Electrical Appliances Using Computer


The  computer  had  seen  a  lot  of  evolution  both  in  hardware  and  software  Sides,  yet  there  are
some  features  which  remain  unbeatable  and  one  among  them  is  the  structure  oriented
programming language or C. Apart from computer Programming they are fused in circuit boards,
microcontrollers etc to carry out Specified functions. The reason is the elegance and simplicity of
the  keywords  used  in  C.  This  project  is  about  Controlling  Home/Industrial  Appliance  with
computer using Parallel Port Programming in C language. This idea is evolved from the in-out
features of microcontroller. The same can be extended to a PC where the output from PC is a
pulse  which  will  activate  a  relay  and  hence  controlling  electrical/electronic  appliance.  This  is
possible in all PCs having parallel port. PC based electrical appliances control is an interesting
PC based project, mainly  useful for industrial applications, home automation, and supervisory
control  applications.  This  project  gives  exact  concept  of  interfacing  a  high  voltage  electrical
device or DC / AC motor to high sensitive personal computer system. This project is the first
step to design of PC based industrial automation projects.

In our day to day life we come across thousands of electrical devices. But have we ever wondered if all of them work on the same type of currents? The answer is ‘NO’ and to feed each and every type of device according to its need we need to have a convertor that can change the electrical energy from one form to another.
The project mainly deals with the conversion of electrical energy from one form to another as per our requirements.As the name suggests there are three major components of the project that are the rectifier (ac-dc convertor) the inverter (dc-ac convertor) and the PWM (pulse width modulator).
In this project we have to simulate the circuit using MATLAB software.This convertor can be an important tool for any other device which works at its optimum capacity only when the current supplied to it is in form of a dc or if it requires any change in its width of each pulse.
